Privacy Policy

The short version

• No account, no sign-in, no ads and no analytics.
• Reports and "I went here" answers are anonymous. We never store your IP address.
• "Near me" uses your location only inside your browser. It is never sent to us.

What we collect

Publik is a website, publik.nxtduo.com. You can use all of it without giving us anything. We only store something when you choose to tap one of these:

• "Under repair" reports. The place, the kind of report and the time. Reports are deleted after 30 days.
• "I went here" answers. The place, the time and the optional answers you tap (for example how to get in, how it felt, and playground safety questions). These are kept for 365 days and then deleted. Other visitors see them only as totals.

To stop the same person sending the same report again and again, each report is stored with a scrambled code made from your IP address and a random value that changes every day. We delete each day's random value, after which the code cannot be turned back into an IP address or linked to your other days. We never store the IP address itself.

What stays in your browser

• Your view choice (list or map), and when you last tapped a report on a place, so you are not asked twice. These are kept in your browser's local storage and never sent to us.
• Your location, only if you tap "Near me" and allow it. It is used in your browser to sort places by distance and is never sent to our server.

Services the site uses

• Cloudflare hosts the site and the small database. As the host it sees your IP address when your browser connects. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
• OpenStreetMap provides the map pictures, so your browser asks its tile servers for them when you open the map.
• Google: the place details show a Google Maps map, and the links for directions and photos open Google Maps. The page also loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. Google receives your IP address for these, under Google's privacy policy.
• cdnjs (run by Cloudflare) serves the map code.

We do not sell or share data with anyone else.

Where the place data comes from

The list of places is public data: the BBMP park list (via OpenCity), OpenStreetMap, and opening hours that are publicly listed on Google Maps. It contains places, not people.

Children

Publik is a general guide for everyone, including parents looking for playgrounds. It collects no personal information, so it does not collect any from children.

Your choices

You can use Publik without tapping anything. You can clear the browser data for the site at any time. Because reports and answers are anonymous, we cannot find "your" reports, but if you think something you sent should be removed, write to us with the place and the time and we will look.
